Vacation within a Vacation

I was planning on writing a lot more last week, but we were without Internet access most of the time, and had to go to a grocery store to get wifi (not the easiest place to blog).

We have been enjoying Part I of our "British holiday" by staying in Wales from June 25-July 2. We just got back yesterday after our fantastic vacation inside a vacation. Our great friends Stuart & Jenny let us borrow their static caravan (very nice trailer) at Gorse Hill Caravan Park. Over here in the UK, people don't own cabins as Americans might on a lake; they own a trailer, often at a purpose-built trailer park made just for out-of-town people who want to go there occasionally to get away from the city. North Wales is a very typical vacation destination for British people in northern England. People in southern England go to places like Brighton or Bath or the southern coast; but up here in the North they like the rural & historical appeal of the Welsh countryside with its castles, towns, and nature walks.

Our home away from home away from home :-)
