I want to start featuring places in Britain that created a strong impression on me and have stayed with me.
This trail is all that is left of a medieval road between the villages of Hatton and Stockton Heath, in the shire county of Cheshire. You know it's very old because the sides rise much higher than the path. I walked the old sun-splotched lane in August 2005. Can you hear the bees humming in the warmth?
